2009 Chicago Filipino American Film Festival

Volunteering for CFAFF is an opportunity to have fun, gain valuable work experience, and get involved with a program that brings together hundreds of Filipino Americans from the Chicagoland area and the Midwest. It’s also a great way to meet and network with other Filipino Americans.

Opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Operations: Volunteers involved in operations will help with planning and coordinate volunteer activities at the event.
  • Programming: Our programming committee researches the latest works from Filipino and Filipino American filmmakers, and reviews films received through our annual call for entries.
  • Fundraising: Our fundraising team solicits money and in-kind support from corporate sponsorships, grants, and donations.
  • Marketing: The marketing team creates ways to promote CFAFF through media, public relations, and outreach.

Volunteers participate on committees solely on the basis of personal interest, relevant work experience is not a requirement.

Please join us, our kickoff volunteer meeting will be held on Thursday, May 28 at 7pm, at the Mercury Cafe, 1505 W. Chicago Avenue.

The Chicago Filipino American Film Festival (CFAFF) exhibits Filipino and Filipino American feature films, shorts, and music videos. In its sixth year of operation, this years event will take place in November 2009. CFAFF is sponsored by FAN, the Filipino American Network of Chicago.

CFAFF provides filmmakers with a chance to show their works in an established film festival and offers the Chicago community an opportunity to see works by artists of Filipino heritage. Our festival is held in the historic Portage Theater and has presented several Chicago, U.S. and World premieres, as well as hosting guest filmmakers and performers from all over the world.
