Donation Opportunities for Filipino Americans

With more than 240 fatalities already, Typhoon Ondoy is the most devastating storm to hit northern Philippines in four decades. The storm has destroyed homes, businesses and livelihoods.

Thousands of Filipinos need help… your help.

The Filipino American Network (FAN ) encourages all Filipino Americans to join in the relief and recovery efforts, with donations to established organizations already at work in providing relief to victims of the typhoon.

The need is urgent!

Whether you can donate $5, $50 or $500, please make a donation to one of these non-profit organizations as soon as you can. These are direct links to Philippine based efforts:

• GMA Kapuso Foundation

Your donation will have an immediate impact, providing much needed assistance and support to relief efforts already underway.

Here is a second chance to give, and possibly win a round trip ticket to the Philippines!

Along with $500 that FAN will directly donate to the Ondoy Relief Efforts from this past year’s event collections (Adobofest, Tagalog Lessons, Poker Tournaments) , here is a chance for you to add this effort. At the CFAFF Launch party on October 10th, for $10 per raffle ticket, you will have a chance to win a round trip ticket to the Philippines, courtesy of Vicky Sarmiento of  “Travel Fast Chicago”. 

NOTE: We can no longer recieve online raffle ticket purchases, however, all prior online raffel ticket purchases will be honored and included in this Saturday’s raffle!

Each $10 donation to the ”FAN Ondoy Relief Effort” before 8:30 pm on October 10th at Dolce, earns you a raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing.  You do not need to be present to win. Going forward, raffle tickets are only available at the event.

Details:

1. Example entry: If you donate $40, you would get 4 raffle tickets.  The 4 physical tickets will be placed into the raffle jar at the raffle on October 10th.
   This gives you 4 chances to win the round trip ticket to the Phillippines, along with all other raffle tickets attained  at the CFAFF Launch party on October 10th.
2. The flight will be one one of the following carriers: Japan Airlines, Korean Air or Asiana Airlines, direct from Chicago to Seoul to Manilla. 
3. Two free hotel nights in Manilla
4. Free ground travel to and from airport to this hotel.
5. Winner is responsible for paying ~$300 in taxes for the ticket.
6. Travel is restricted between dates of  Jan 1 to May 20 and September 1 to  November 15.
7. Tickets cannot be used as credit.
8. Online entry names will be listed on  their respective number of physical raffle tickets.
9. The winner will be contacted via email or telephone number. Or the winner will find out at the live raffle.
10. The raffle will be at 8:30 PM, on Saturday, October 10th at Dolce.
11. The $10 donation is divided as follows: $5 per ticket goes to Ondoy Relief Efforts, the other $5 goes to ticket purchase.
12. Ticket guaranteed to winner, no matter what amount we raise.
